Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. 

(There is a chance that, when things seem all wrong , you are exactly where God has purposed you to be. )

Naturally, we have desires - but what are they rooted in? We dream about the way we’d like our lives to go - but the ceiling of our fantasies are possibilities witnessed through human eyes. God wants to do far more than we’ve seen or expected or envisioned. In order for that to happen, we must release our mortal expectations, and make way for a supernatural shift. God will lead us onto paths we are very uncomfortable walking along while affirming, all the while, that we are exactly where we’re supposed to be with provisions of peace, joy, and understanding.

Isaiah 42:16

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. 

Bad things happen, and we conclude that God doesn’t like us. Bad things happen, and we revert to our former ways, because we assume our prayers have fallen upon deaf ears.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Trusting God means maintaining faith that God is working, and moving, and putting things together for our good. It means believing God is working in the supernatural when the evidence has not yet appeared in the natural. Trusting God requires strength and consistency - it is not easy. Faith is evidence of things not seen. Faith is only faith when we’re walking in blind confidence.

Matthew 6: 33-34

But seek first God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. [34] Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

(You cannot worry and be reliant on God, simultaneously).

Peace resides in full reliance on The Creator. Anxiety stems from uncertainty about your future. When you don’t trust your decisions, when you don’t feel qualified, when you don’t believe you’re able to stick the landing - whatever the cause of your anxiety is, it can be diluted through remembering that God is able, especially when we are not. God’s power is magnified in our weakness. When your anxiety fades at the perfect time, when your confidence kicks in right when you needed it to, and when provisions appear JUST as you’d lost all hope - acknowledge God’s strength, working to make you victorious and qualified.

In situations where we feel inadequate, we can call on God to supply what we lack.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, to those who are called according to God’s purpose.


(Trust that the lesson in all of your tribulations will become clear.)

Every hardship eventually becomes a member of my past. The lesson is what remains - evidence of how I’ve been BETTERED is what stays. Anything that I have, and will, endure is something that I must go through. It is a part of my personal path. I am being delivered from demons and my damaging habits. I am constantly being molded. Every situation, good and bad, prepares me for the next step of my journey. Nothing is for naught. As I learn and grow, I see my trials as a reflection of God’s refusal to give up on me. Confusion is replaced with gratitude as I press forward.

1 Corinthians 10:31

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it for the glory of God.

Invest your time and thought into manifesting things that God has DESIGNED to fulfill you. If you don’t know what those things are (yet) then pray for clarity! If you work to please yourself, if you grind to impress other humans, you will never arrive at the FULL destiny God designed for you.

John 15:7

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 

(When you are in tune with God, the desires of your two hearts will match.)

My life is not my own. I serve a great and eternal purpose. My life has been mapped out beautifully by God - the rightful owner. To understand this, is to understand: As long as I remain in God, my steps are ordered. I have absolutely nothing to worry about. God literally commands me not to get anxious…

Philippians 4: 6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on God because God cares for you

We should have goals, and we should write them out, and we should run towards them BUT - God wants to be consulted.

If you believe that God designed your path, why wouldn’t you ask that SAME God where to step?

Including God in all of my steps has helped me to recognize the blessings wrapped into each day.

Psalm 118:24

The Lord has done it this very day, let us rejoice today and be glad.

1 Timothy 6:6

But godliness with contentment is great gain. 

Contentment in today defeats anxiety concerning the future.

The future, and talk of tomorrow, cannot overshadow what God has done in this very moment.

I am content with this day that I have been given. Contentment is not settling - contentment is gratitude. Contentment is trust in God’s intention. Contentment, in spite of circumstance, displays my true heart, my true attitude, and my true faith in Christ.

Phillipians 4:11-13

 … for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through God who gives me strength.

By meditating on these scriptures, I have learned to truly, “let go and let God” - it’s not just some fun church joke.

Over the last year, I’ve come to discover the NECESSITY in consulting God before moving a muscle. Not only am I understanding the vitality of asking God what’s best for me before creating and getting attached to any plans - but I am confident in knowing that all things are working together for my good.
